Description
Ty'n-Llwyn Farmhouse is a 2-storey building constructed from whitewashed rubble and topped with a slate roof. It features a 2-unit baffle entry plan with a central rear wing. The central entrance is located on the east elevation, accessed through a rustic wood porch and a plank door with an overlight. This entrance is flanked by 12-pane sash windows, one of which retains a rough timber lintel. The upper windows consist of 8-pane sashes, with a renewed 12-pane window above the doorway. On the south-facing gable wall, there are 12-pane sash windows on both floors, while the rear wing contains casement windows.
The original block has a 2-room plan with an axial stack and a baffle entry. The fireplace in the north room features a chamfered bressumer, while the other original fireplace has been blocked. In the north room, there are paired heavy spine beams with decorative bar stops to the chamfer. The south room has paired transverse beams with very rough unstopped chamfers. The roof timbers are said to show evidence of a raising of the roof, likely as part of an early 19th-century renovation.
