Description
The farm buildings at Llan Farm consist of an L-plan arrangement, with a barn and shippons enclosing two sides of a yard. There is an additional building at the gable end of the shippon, which forms a short range at the front of the yard and may have originally served as a stable. This building features a loft doorway in the gable end facing the yard, accessible by renewed stairs, and includes nesting boxes in the gable apex. The barn, which may date from the 17th century, forms the southwest boundary of the yard and has a rubble ground floor. It is supported by braced timber posts and has brick panel infill creating three bays above. The barn features heavy principal trusses with short queen struts, double doors to the right, and a loft door accessible by steps to the left. The upper floor retains line shafting and some farm machinery, likely from the early 20th century. The shippon, probably from the 18th century, forms the southeast range and faces outward from the yard, featuring three doorways with rough timber lintels.
