Description
The farm buildings at Llwyfan consist of a continuous range on a steep slope, featuring a barn at the upper end and a cow house below it, which has a separate, lower roof. The buildings are constructed from random rubble sandstone and topped with slate roofs.
The barn includes a sliding wooden door for cart access in the center, with a vent slit to the right. To the left, at a lower level, there are two stable doors leading to the basement. The right gable end features a loft opening, while the rear has full-height double doors leading to a passage, flanked by two vent strips on the left and one on the right.
The cow house has a central doorway with a replaced lintel. To the right, there are two doorways with segmental heads, and to the left, there is a pair of similar doorways along with a window further left. Above, there is a central loft doorway beneath the wall plate, which has a boarded door. There is also a later lean-to on the left gable end, below stepped vent strips, as well as additional later lean-tos at the back.
The barn features a flagged cart passage, and both the barn and cow house have roofs supported by tie- and collar-beam trusses.
