Description
Green Drive Lodge is a picturesque-style lodge built in the late 19th century. It has one-and-a-half storeys and features two windows, constructed from snecked, rock-faced sandstone with larger quoins, topped with a slate, half-hipped roof. A central ridge stack is equipped with two diagonal shafts.
At the front, there is a bay that projects forward on the right, which includes a three-light mullioned and transomed canted bay window. Above this bay window is a 20th-century casement window set in its original opening. To the left, there is a two-light casement window with a hood mould, situated under a canopy that has a catslide roof supported by two monoliths, each crafted to resemble logs.
The front doorway is located in the short side wall of the advanced bay. It features a wooden frame with an elliptical arch beneath a hood mould and is fitted with a boarded and ribbed door. The left end wall has a 20th-century casement window inserted into an earlier opening on the lower storey, with a two-light casement window above it, also featuring a hood mould. The right end wall has a lean-to attached.
At the rear, there is a single-storey projection with a two-light window that matches the main elevation, and behind this projection, an additional single-storey extension was added in the late 20th century. The building was not inspected at the time of the survey in August 1997.
