Description

Gliffaes Fach is a two-storey, three-window house dating from the 19th century. It features a lower wing to the right and a stable with a tack room stepped down at the left end. The building is constructed of rubble stone, with the main house having a roughcast and cream-painted front, and a slate roof that includes white-brick stacks at the centre and ends.

The main house has 12-pane horned sash windows, with two upper storey windows placed equally under gablets. The lower storey has a doorway to the left of centre, which features a half-lit panelled door and a three-pane overlight. At the left end, there is a boarded door leading to the stable, along with stone steps that descend to a boarded door for the tack room, which is separated from the stable by a butt joint. The tack room includes a doorway at the rear beneath a large stone lintel, while the stable has a doorway and a two-light window set in a brick surround, with a central loft opening under a stone segmental head.

The rear of the house has two windows with 9-pane sashes in inserted openings, featuring brick jambs, and a renewed door located lower left. To the left, at the angle with the rear wing, there is an added outshut with 20th-century windows. The rear wing contains 9-pane sashes in the side wall and an end stone stack. The property was not inspected at the time of the survey in August 1997.
