Description
The arch and gate at Ffynnon Gwyfil is a 4-meter high arched rubble gateway featuring a plain round arched opening and a simple Dutch gable above. The gable has slate coping and is topped with an acorn finial made of reconstituted stone. Inside the gable, there is a shallow oval recess with a keystone shaped like a reconstituted stone eagle, which is a common feature used by architect Williams-Ellis. The recess holds a slate tablet that is inscribed with the words 'Ffynnon Gwyfil'. The wrought iron gate has simple scrolled and tasselled decoration at the top.
