Description
This is a boulder-built vernacular barn located to the northeast of Plas Brondanw, set into a slope just below the road. It features a 20th-century slate roof, with the former rubble gable parapets removed. The barn has off-centre opposing entrances; the southwest side has a wide entrance with a timber lintel leading to the yard, while the northeast entrance is partly blocked and has been converted into a window. There are two ventilation slits to the right and one to the left of the yard entrance.
To the left of the main barn, there is a later byre extension that is stepped down from the primary barn. This extension is also constructed from boulders, has a slate roof, and retains a rubble gable parapet. It features a plain central entrance on the yard side.
Inside the main barn, there is a four-bay roof supported by original collar-and-tie-beam trusses, pegged purlins, and original rafters, with a beaten earth floor. The two-bay addition is plain in design.
