Description
The barn at Pen-ucha'r-plwyf is a Grade II listed structure built from rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. It features a symmetrical front with a tall central opening flanked by vent loops on each side. The entrance has board doors and a timber lintel, with an added raking buttress on the right side. The left end of the barn has three vent loops, while the right end is blank. The rear has an asbestos sheet roof, a similar doorway, and a vent loop to the left. There are tin sheets covering the doors, and the rear right has a long lofted outbuilding with a Bridgewater tile roof. Outside steps lead to a loft door with a timber lintel in the end gable.
The front facing the rear court includes a boarded loft opening to the left and three ground floor openings with timber lintels: a door to the left, a window in an infilled broad opening at the center, and another window to the left. There are holes in the wall at the center and right for a former lean-to. The rear side, facing the house, has a door to the right and a four-bay lean-to with Bridgewater tiles supported by iron columns, along with one loft window above.
Inside, the barn has a five-bay roof with tie-beam and collar pegged trusses, and double purlins. The rear wing features oak floor beams.
