Description
Mill House at Nantybanw is a former mill that has been converted into a house. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range with cambered-headed pairs of casement windows that have stone voussoirs. There are three original oak window frames and two renewed ones, all with square leading to glazing and iron opening casements. The ground floor has a renewed oak plank door on the left, which also features stone voussoirs. A stone chimney is located on the wall face at the left corner. The left end gable has a pair of leaded casement windows, while the right end wall contains a wheel-pit that was used for a former overshot water-wheel.
Inside, the ground floor has a three-bay room with machinery located in the right end bay. This includes an iron pit-wheel that turns an oak horizontal toothed wheel. The upper floor is not visible, but a millstone remains in situ.
