Description

The gateway to the former Walled Garden at Y Glyn is a Grade II listed structure. It possibly incorporates earlier wrought ironwork and features rectangular panels on the gates that are adorned with intricate scrolled designs. The gateway includes a lock bar, a dog bar, and a similarly detailed deep tympanum.

Above the gates, there is a segmental arch made of bull-nosed rubble voussoirs with a keystone, and the arch is topped with chambered coping. The gate piers are constructed from coursed rubble and have capstones that are topped with stone lions. As of June 1988, the area around the gateway was partially overgrown.
