Description
The Game Larder at Peniarth Uchaf is a small octagonal building constructed with stone rubble walls that stand 1.3 meters high. The walls are topped with slate sills, from which timber posts extend to support an octagonal roof covered with slate. Originally, the openings between the posts were filled with zinc gauze, which still lines the underside of the roof. Each opening has a central batten with closely spaced hooks, likely used for hanging game. The wide eaves are supported by shaped timber brackets. At the center of the roof, a metal ventilator pipe rises, also protected by gauze, and it originally terminated with a wire balloon, which is now missing. The entrance is located on the north side, but the door is no longer present. Inside, the floor is made of quarry tiles, and the walls are rendered up to the sills.
