Description
Ty'n y Cornel is a two-storey building constructed on a cut platform in the hillside, made of locally sourced rubble stone and topped with a slate roof. The structure has three bays, with an additional bay added to the east in a matching vernacular style. The original part of the building features a central boarded door with a glazed panel, which is sheltered by an open framed timber porch with a gabled roof. On either side of the door, there are 4-pane sash windows on both floors, with one window also positioned above the door. The right-hand added bay has similar but larger windows and includes a door with a glazed panel, also set within a similar porch to the left. All windows have sawn slate sills and stone lintels on the ground floor. The building is topped with tall gable stacks, including one on the extension. At the rear, there is a contemporary outshut for domestic offices and a dormer window located at the back of the extension. The building was unoccupied and not accessible at the time of inspection.
