Description
Pen-y-graean is a pair of cottages built from snecked squared rubble stone, featuring some large blocks, and topped with slate roofs. Each cottage is two storeys high and consists of two bays. They have a central four-panelled door with a plain overlight, which is sheltered by a lean-to canopy supported by shaped brackets. On either side of the porch, there are larger two-light six-pane casement windows, with similar but slightly smaller windows on the upper floor located in raised and gabled dormers. The cottages have deep eaves and gable end stacks, which include clayware ventilation pots. The two stacks at the center are combined into a single square stack. The shaped purlin ends extend out to support the wide verge. The northern gable end stack has been rebuilt.
