Description
The stables, or bothy, at Plas Glan-yr-Afon is a long, rectangular two-storey building that is oriented roughly east-west. It is constructed from regularly coursed rubblestone, with significant areas of lime render remaining on the right gable end. The building features a graded slate roof with an integral end stack on the right side.
The front elevation includes eaves windows on the left and in the center, along with a carriage entrance on the left that has a timber lintel and a red brick relieving arch. There are two later red brick buttresses with a blocked lunette window situated between them. In the center, there is a brick round-arched boarded door, and another boarded door is located to the right. External stone steps with rubblestone retaining walls provide access to boarded doors on each gable end. The right gable end also has a boarded door, which has been partly converted into a window, as well as a boarded hatch on the upper level.
Inside, the building features continuous first-floor and bolted A-frame trusses throughout.
