Description
Bodgarad is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century. It is a two-storey building with a three-bay plan and features a continuous catslide outshut at the rear on the left side, along with a single-storey outbuilding that projects from the front right corner. The exterior is made of limewashed rubblestone and has slate roofs, which are partly grouted and have coped verges on the farmhouse.
The front of the house has three windows, all of which are late 20th-century replacements but appear to be in the original openings. The centre window on the first floor is of reduced proportions. The central entrance features a late 20th-century door set in a shallow open slate porch, with the outline of a former gable visible above it. The farmhouse has integral end stacks with slate drips.
Immediately behind the outshut, there is a cast-iron water wheel located in a wheel-pit. The outbuilding has a window in the front gable end and a substantial integral end stack at the rear gable end, which also has slate drips and a red brick top. Additionally, there is a late 20th-century roughcast lean-to with a shallow tin roof attached to the left gable end of the farmhouse. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
