Description
The building is a 3-bay barn and cowhouse at Plas Glan-yr-Afon, dating from the 19th century. The barn is aligned roughly north-south and features a lean-to attached to the west long wall, with a lower cowhouse that is flush with the north gable end and projects to the east. The structure is built of roughly coursed rubblestone, with tighter joints in the barn, and has slate roofs.
The north gable end of the barn includes a central doorway flanked by tall rectangular window openings, as well as a central pitching door for access to the upper level. The cowhouse has two stable doors at the front and a small window located in the corner next to the barn.
Inside, the barn features two large pegged A-frame trusses, with ties that appear to have been cut off near the ends. There is a doorway in the back wall and another in the left wall leading to the cowhouse, which has a 19th-century A-frame truss roof.
