Description

The barn at Plas-yn-Llan is a 1-storey structure built from random rubble with stone quoins, featuring a hayloft over the left end bay. It has a renewed slate roof. To the left, there is a single-storey extension made of 20th-century red brick. The front elevation faces the farmyard and includes a central flight of 20th-century steps leading to a doorway with a timber lintel above. To the left, there is a wooden stable door also with a timber lintel. The ground and first floors have 19th-century 10-pane windows. Additionally, there are ventilation slits and a blocked threshing door to the left.

On the rear elevation, there is a threshing door and ventilation slits to the left, and to the right, a wooden door along with a wooden 2-light mullion window at first-floor level. Inside, the barn is subdivided into a central threshing floor with manger stalls at one end. It features three early 18th-century tie-beam trusses with angle struts. A partition wall with a door leads to a single unit room at the south, which has chamfered and stopped axial and cross beams. The floor was replaced in the 20th century.
