Description

The stables at Plas-y-Brithdir, built in the early 19th century, form a T-shaped agricultural range constructed from rubble masonry. The roofs are moderately pitched and covered with quarry slate, featuring close verges and plain eaves. The gabled cartshed is set forward, with a loading door for the granary located in the gable end, topped with a stone lintel.

On the ground floor, there are twin entries to the cartshed; the right entry has a deep stone lintel, while the left has a timber lintel. To the left, there is a lean-to stable that also has a rubble masonry structure and a slate roof. This stable includes a small window at the front with a stone lintel, a split door at the rear next to a staircase leading to the granary, and a plank door set under the eaves. Additionally, there is a small window with a shutter located under the eaves on the right side elevation.

The main range aligns with the house, featuring a window under the eaves above the doorway, which has a stone lintel and is adjacent to the gable end of the house. There is a pitching door on the east gable end, also with a stone lintel and a plank door. The ground floor includes a broad stable split door, which has broad fillets on the planks and is a folding door with a deep stone lintel. The rear elevation features another broad split door, again with a stone lintel.
