Description
Ynys-wen is a 2-storey farmhouse built in an L-plan layout, featuring a rear range that extends at right angles to the left and continues behind to form a single-storey service range. The front is constructed from regularly coursed and dressed rubblestone blocks, while the sides and rear are made from more roughly coursed stone. The farmhouse has slate roofs with rooflights.
The front elevation has four windows, all featuring recessed 16-paned sash windows with slate lintels on the first floor and stone lintels on the ground floor, except for two closely spaced 12-paned sash windows in the center of the first floor. There is a four-panel door located in the second bay from the left. The farmhouse has integral end stacks with slate drips, while the right side is pebbledashed. The rear range also includes an integral end stack and has a glazed door with an overlight set within a 20th-century gabled porch. The single-storey service range at the back has a large integral end stack with a tall brick chimney. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
