Description

This is a footbridge dating from the time of the former Caernarfon to Llanberis Railway. It features a single-span arch over a deep cutting. The bridge has rectangular stone piers at each end, with circles of varying sizes in the spandrels of the segmental arch. The handrail is designed with delicate square panels and thin scissor bracing, which gives the entire structure a notably refined and sophisticated appearance. There are stone steps at each approach; the steps on the south side lead straight onto the bridge, while those on the north side are set at right angles to it.
