Description
Tan-Hafotty is a single-storey cottage with an attached cowhouse. The original part of the house is on the right, while the cowhouse to the left has been converted for domestic use and replaced by a new cowhouse attached to the left gable end. The building features limewashed rubblestone and has a graded slate roof on the original structure, with a Victorian slate roof on the later cowhouse.
The original house part includes four-paned sash windows with slate cills on either side of a slightly off-set boarded door. There is an integral end stack to the right and a ridge stack to the left at the junction with the original cowhouse, both equipped with slate drips. The original cowhouse has a boarded door on the left and a boarded-up window to its right, along with boarded doors at the front of the later cowhouse.
Inside, the single large room to the right of the ridge stack features an exposed A-frame truss and a large open fireplace with a timber lintel at the end stack. The smaller room to the left has a chimney breast that projects into the room. The floors are finished with slate and quarry tiles.
