Description
The building is a long cowhouse and cart shelter located on the east side of the yard at Fferm Cochwillan. It is constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone and features a hipped slate roof, which is interrupted by a slightly projecting cross-gable for the cart shelter. The roof extends to the rear, towards the southern end, and includes a hip-roofed projection near the northern end, with ridge vents present.
The cowhouse section has two stable doors facing the yard and three visible windows, although part of the elevation is obscured by a 20th-century tin lean-to. The cart shelter has two wide openings with slate lintels and a central pier, along with an 8-pane boarded ventilator window centrally placed in the loft. To the right of the cart shelter, there is an additional door and a ventilated window, as well as a brick ridge stack at the far right where it meets the hip. The end wall also features a window. The rear wall of the entire range is unbroken, except for the 8-pane boarded ventilator window in the loft of the cart shelter.
Inside the cart shelter, there is a cobbled floor and brick steps with slate treads leading up to the loft.
