Description
Ty'n Twll is a 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse dating from the 19th century, with a long rectangular cowhouse attached to the right gable end. The farmhouse is built from regularly coursed rubblestone blocks, which are rendered on the right gable end, while the cowhouse features smaller and more roughly coursed stone. The farmhouse has a graded slate roof, and the cowhouse has a corrugated iron roof.
The front of the farmhouse has three windows, all of which are 4-paned sashes with slate cills. There is a 4-panel door located under a mid-19th century gabled timber porch that has trellis work decoration and a slate roof. The farmhouse also has integral end stacks with slate drips. The rear wall features 20th-century windows on the left side of both floors, along with a 9-paned sash window on the upper right.
The cowhouse includes boarded doors on the left, center, and right, alternating with windows, and has a blocked doorway situated between the left and center doors. The interior of the farmhouse was not accessible during the survey, but it seems to retain much of its original character. The cowhouse features A-frame trusses.
