Description
Hafod-rhug-isaf is a small farmhouse dating from the 19th century, featuring one storey and an attic. It has a three-room layout that runs roughly north to south. The exterior is made of roughly coursed rubblestone, with roughcast on the front and rendered on the north gable end, all sitting on a boulder plinth. The roof is slate.
The front of the house includes three gabled eaves dormers, which have 20th-century windows. There is a central boarded door, flanked by recessed square openings that contain horizontal sliding sashes with slate cills. The farmhouse has integral end stacks, with the northern stack rebuilt and the southern stack featuring slate drips.
Inside, the ground floor follows the three-room plan, with a central passageway and rooms on either side. The left room has a cambered timber lintel over the fireplace and stop-chamfered ceiling beams. A steep staircase located in the passageway likely dates from the 19th century. On the first floor, there are two A-frame trusses that are partly concealed by the ceiling.
