Description
The Former Erecting Shop at Boston Lodge is a single-storey building constructed from slatey rubble and topped with a slate roof, which now features roof-lights. Historical photographs indicate that there was once a chimney on the structure. In the center, there are two full-height, half-glazed door entrances that allow railway tracks to run through. At the far right end of the building is the carriage works, with the front section being modern. To the left of this section, there is a lower part-glazed entrance flanked by tall iron-framed windows.
Inside, the shop has a wide aisled roof and still contains line shafting for belt drives.
