Description

The Former Nags Head Maltings is a two-storey brick building with a slate roof, facing the road and consisting of five bays. It features a gable above the central entrances, which includes a first-floor loading bay. The lower windows on either side have flat arched heads, while the upper windows are positioned below the eaves. There are inserted doorways on the lower left-hand side.

At the rear, there is a square-plan malt drying kiln with a hipped slate roof that has a central louvred vent. Most of the openings in the kiln were added after it ceased operation. The kiln is said to retain its perforated tiled drying floor, and cast iron columns support the upper storey in the main range.
