Description

North Lodge is a single-storey, roughly T-plan building designed in a mild Picturesque style. It was originally constructed from rubblestone, with 20th-century brick additions, and the entire structure is rendered in pebbledash. The roof is half-hipped and covered with slate, featuring exposed purlin ends and deep verges with boarded soffits.

On the east elevation, there is a central half-hipped cross-wing that includes a 3-light mullioned and transomed timber window. The lower lights below the transom have six panes, while the upper lights are fitted with latticed glazing bars. A diagonal stack with stepped capping rises to the ridge. This cross-wing is flanked by lean-to verandahs on the main range, supported by rustic posts with curved bracing. The left verandah has a 2-light window beneath and a single-light window in the left return of the cross-wing. The right verandah is shorter and serves as an open lean-to porch, featuring a cobbled pebble floor, a boarded door in the right return of the cross-wing, and a 12-paned 2-light window on the main wall.

To the west, there is a low 20th-century addition that continues the cross-wing and includes a yard area on the north side adjoining the park wall. Additionally, there is another 20th-century addition to the south of the main range, which has a 2-light window on the east and a 3-light window in the end wall. The interior was not inspected at the time of the survey.
