Description

The Northern Range to the lower farmyard at Glynllifon College Farm is a long farmyard structure built from local rubble and topped with a hipped slate roof that features vents. The south side has some modern windows with cemented lintels, but retains slit vents at the rear. The broad west end has sliding doors with a slate hood. At the east end, on the inner (south) side, there is a former gabled porch with a datestone from 1852, although the original doorway now has an inserted window.

At the uphill, east end, there is a cross range that connects to a short range stepped up at the north end, likely a former boiler house due to its unusually tall chimney. This section is also constructed of local rubble and features slate roofs with wide eaves typical of earlier 19th-century work on the estate. The red brick chimney has a neck band and a stepped base. On either side of the link between the ranges are round-arched doorways that lead to a through passage connecting the two farmyards. The east side of the former boiler house includes a door with an overlight opposite the chimney and a pair of windows to the right.

The building was not accessible at the time of inspection.
