Description

Madoc Yacht Club is a three-storey house with a two-storey former newsroom on the right side and a smaller one-storey range on the left side. The house features a three-window façade made of coursed local slate-stone in regular squared blocks, topped with a slate roof that has overhanging eaves and end stone stacks. The central door, which has been replaced, is boarded and includes an overlight. The windows on the lower and middle storeys are 12-pane hornless sashes, with the centre windows being narrower. The upper storey has two shorter 9-pane sash windows situated under gables.

The left-hand range consists of two windows and is built from rubble slate-stone, which includes large undressed blocks and is laid in rough courses, also under a slate roof. This range features replacement 20-pane sash windows, and its right side wall has a doorway that has been blocked and converted into a window.

The three-window newsroom on the right is constructed from large roughly dressed slate-stone blocks arranged in regular courses, with a slate roof and an end stack on the right. The lower storey includes a blocked double doorway that has been filled with pebble-dash and has an inserted window. The upper storey has 12-pane hornless sash windows. External stone steps with iron railings and renewed cement treads lead to a fielded-panel door at the right end.

The right gable end has a blocked double doorway with pebble-dashed infill and two inserted windows, situated below a pointed newsroom window that features thin glazing bars forming Y-tracery. The rear of the building has another double doorway that is blocked similarly to the end and front doorways, along with an inserted boarded door to the right. The house also has a single replacement door and window at the rear.
