3 Pencei (Cornhill)

This is a 4-storey, 4-bay block built of large blocks of slate-stone laid in regular courses, with a slate roof and ridge stacks to the left of center and on the left-hand ridge. The front elevation features unequal, outer gabled bays at numbers 2 and 5. The left-hand bay (number 2) has replacement windows, with larger windows on the lower level, and the entrance is offset to the right, featuring a half-glazed door and side panel that replaced a larger original door. Number 3 has a replacement half-glazed door and overlight on its right side, alongside a 2-pane sash window to its left. While the 2nd-storey window at number 3 is a replacement, the 3rd and 4th storeys retain earlier 2-pane sash windows. Number 4 features a panel door and overlight, with a 16-pane hornless sash window to its left. The 2nd and 3rd storeys have similar windows, and the 4th storey has a shorter 12-pane sash window. Number 5, positioned under the right-hand gable, has a half-glazed panel door accompanied by a 2-light small-pane window to its left. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th storeys all incorporate 18-pane sash windows where previous loading doors were located, with a pulley block over the upper-storey window.

The right end wall (number 5) retains a faint outline of a former 1-storey gabled building, along with replacement 2-light windows on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th storeys. The 2-window left end (number 2) also has replacement windows and a lean-to structure with a blocked window facing the front. A garage is located at the left end, featuring double doors set under a steel lintel. The building belongs to a group known as 2-5 Pencei (Cornhill).
