Description
Voryd Cottage and the attached limekiln are located together as a single-storey structure with a two-room layout, oriented north-south. The limekiln, which has a roughly L-shaped design, is attached to the north of the cottage. Both the cottage and limekiln are constructed from roughly coursed rubblestone, featuring buttered pointing, while the cottage has a slate roof. The cottage includes four-paned sash windows with slate cills on either side of a slightly offset four-paned window that has replaced the original entrance. There are rendered integral end stacks.
The southern section of the limekiln, which has been converted for domestic use, extends from the north-eastern corner of the cottage and includes two 20th-century windows and a door at the front. The next section is slightly recessed and features boarded double doors with a wicket door and a louvered window to the left. To the north of this section, projecting at right angles to the east, the original structure of the kiln is most evident with its battered walls, which remain unbroken except for a boarded door on the north side. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
