43-47 High Street, Linlithgow

43-47 High Street in Linlithgow is a late 18th-century, three-storey, five-bay house featuring classical details and shops on the ground floor. The building is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, with the north elevation painted. It has a base course, a moulded eaves course, a cornice, quoins, raised margins, and a mix of single and bipartite windows.

The north (entrance) elevation has five asymmetrical bays. The central doorpiece is tall, corniced, and pilastered, with stop-chamfered reveals, featuring a modern fanlit door. There are fanlit doors on either side and large shop windows in the outer bays. The first floor has four bays with two widely spaced windows in the center and bipartite windows in the outer bays. The second floor contains five windows arranged in a 1-3-1 grouping, with the center window being blind. A pediment is located above the three central bays, and there is a brick stack at the apex.

The south (rear) elevation has three asymmetrical bays. The building primarily features plate glass sash and case windows, with a 12-pane window being blind. The roof is covered with grey slate and has corniced stacks at the gables.
