71 High Street, Linlithgow

71 High Street in Linlithgow is a tenement building dating from around 1800. It has three storeys and an attic, with three bays and a shop on the ground floor. The building is constructed from cream sandstone rubble, which is coursed on the north elevation, and features base and string courses along with raised ashlar margins.

The north elevation, which is the entrance side, has an asymmetrical layout at ground level. The shop door is located off-centre to the right, flanked by a large modern window on the left and another window on the right, with a pend to the outer left. The first and second floors have a regular arrangement of windows.

On the south elevation, there is a projecting stair tower topped with a catslide roof that houses a stone turnpike stair, along with a two-storey wing. The building features 12-pane sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes a canted slate-hung dormer with a piended roof, ashlar coped skews, and broad rendered stacks at the gables.
