57 High Street, Linlithgow

57 High Street in Linlithgow is a two-storey and attic tenement building dating from 1883, featuring three bays and a shop on the ground floor. The north elevation has an M-gable design. The structure is made of cream sandstone rubble that is squared, stugged, and snecked, with ashlar dressings on the north side, which is painted at the ground level. It includes a base course, a cill course with stops at the first floor, and a roll-moulded eaves course. The windows have hollow chamfers and roll-moulding on the reveals, and the gables are crowstepped.

On the north (entrance) elevation, there is a tripartite shopfront with a central deep-set pair of half-glazed doors. The porch features timber chamfered posts and large display windows on either side. Above, there are three segmental-headed windows on the first floor. The outer bays have squared basket-arched windows in corbelled crowstepped gablehead dormers, each adorned with aprons and ball finials. A date panel is situated between these dormers.

The building has plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate mansard roof, and sandstone corniced stacks at the gables.
