179-181 Quarry Street in Hamilton is a three-storey, three-bay tenement building constructed around 1896. It features a red sandstone ashlar exterior and a slate roof. The ground floor has a cornice, while the first and second floors have a moulded cill course and a corniced wallhead. The centre bay is pilastered and topped with an irregular curvilinear gable, with a stack located on the right side. The windows include single and bipartite architraved designs, with cornicing on the first floor. The bipartite windows are located to the left and right, while the second floor has a central pedimented single window that features a cartouche in the apron. The original glazing was sash and case, with plate glass on the bottom and multi-pane on the top, although most windows now have modern materials that do not match the original character. The ground floor centre has a round-headed channelled doorcase, with modern shopfronts on both the left and right sides. The interior has not been seen.
