84-92 West Bow, Edinburgh

84-92 West Bow in Edinburgh is a four-storey and attic tenement building dating from 1863. It features three bays and includes shops on the ground floor, arranged in a stepped manner to follow the slope of the street. The building is constructed of coursed cream ashlar, which is painted at the ground level. A decorative consoled cornice adorns the ground floor. The doors and windows have stop-chamfered margins, with a timber panelled door at the centre leading to the flats, topped by a plate glass fanlight. The flanking bays have two-leaf timber panelled storm doors for the shops, with shop windows in the outer bays. Above, there is regular fenestration. The two right bays have a crow-stepped wallhead gable with a corniced apex stack. The mansard roof features modern inset lead dormers. The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing, and the roof is covered with graded grey slates. The building also has a corniced apex stack with circular cans.
