5 and 7 Victoria Street in Edinburgh is a four-storey, three-bay tenement building designed by George Smith in 1855, featuring a bar and restaurant on the ground floor. The exterior is constructed of coursed cream ashlar, which is painted at the ground level, while the rear is made of squared and snecked rubble. The building has a base course and a consoled cornice at the ground floor, along with cill bands on the first and second floors. The windows are set in raised surrounds, with bracketed cills on the second floor. The roof features pedimented dormers that break the eaves.

The entrance to the flats on the right consists of a timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, while the bar entrance on the left has a two-leaf timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, flanked by windows. The building's windows are fitted with 12-pane lying-pane glazing in timber sash and case frames. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and features crowstepped skews, along with corniced ashlar stacks topped with circular cans.
