80 West Bow, Edinburgh

82 West Bow is a four-storey and attic tenement building constructed in 1863. It features three bays and has shops on the ground floor, with its design stepped to accommodate the slope of the street. The building is made of cream coursed ashlar, which has been painted at the ground level. A decorative consoled cornice adorns the ground floor, and the doors and windows have stop-chamfered margins.

The shop on the right has a two-leaf storm door, with a glazed inner door and a plate glass fanlight, flanked by windows that have modern glazing. The shop on the left also has a two-leaf timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight, similarly flanked by windows with modern glazing. The centre bay features a crowstepped wallhead gable with a corniced wallhead stack, and crowstepped gabletted dormerheads that break the eaves on both sides. The mansard roof includes modern lead dormers.

The building has four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, grey slate roofing, and stone skews. The wallhead and end stacks are corniced and feature circular cans.
