183 Quarry Street, Hamilton

This building, located at 183 Quarry Street in Hamilton, was constructed in 1896 and is a three-storey, four-bay tenement. It features a red sandstone ashlar facade and a slate roof. The design includes a moulded cill course at the first and second floors, as well as a moulded wallhead course. The ground floor has single and bipartite windows with chamfered jambs, while the first floor showcases windows that are architraved with segmental and pedimental heads and a pulvinated frieze. The second floor has windows with chamfered margins.

The entrance is marked by a pedimented doorpiece with a moulded round-headed doorcase located at the centre left of the ground floor. To the left of the entrance is a bipartite window, and to the right, there are both single and bipartite windows. Above the entrance, there is a corbelled and pedimented date panel that extends from the first floor to the second floor, along with a corniced wallhead stack. The first and second floors also feature a bipartite window to the left and single and bipartite windows to the right. The interior has not been seen.
