5 And 7 Victoria Road

5 and 7 Victoria Road is a mid 19th century, unusual and asymmetrical two-storey and attic house that has been converted into a commercial shop. It faces the main square in Ballater and features a prominent wallhead stack on the west elevation. The building is constructed from pink granite rubble and has irregular fenestration.

On the first floor, there are four-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor has late 20th century timber windows and doors. The roof is covered with grey graded slate, and there is a tall, coped wallhead stack.

Inside, the original floor plan is largely preserved on the upper floors, although the ground floor has been extensively modernised. The interior includes four-panel timber doors and a staircase with narrow balusters that is positioned transversely to the main entrance of the house. There is also a small stair platform on the attic floor.
