Description
The Commemorative Drinking Well, located in Church Square, was built in 1884. This prominently situated well features a square plan and a battered Gothic design. It is constructed from coursed, rock-faced grey granite. A battered plinth supports four square-plan columns that hold up a pyramidal canopy, which has blind lucarnes and a foliate finial. The well includes a verdigris flower pattern water spout, accompanied by a commemorative plaque and a granite bowl below. It is enclosed on three sides by a low wall topped with granite coping.
