Description
St Mellor's Well is a holy well dating from the 15th century, constructed from granite ashlar and featuring a corbelled granite roof. The well has a small rectangular plan, measuring approximately one metre by one and a half metres, with gable ends at the front and rear.
The exterior includes a front gable end with a chamfered rounded arched opening, above which is an image niche that also has a rounded arch. The ridge of the roof is formed by a moulded granite monolith. Inside, there is a sink at the rear for the spring, an image niche in the rear wall, and an additional niche on the left side. The front doorway retains pintles.
