Description
This is a group of five monuments located in the churchyard against the south wall of the south aisle of the Church of St Melor in Linkinhorne. The monuments date from the 18th century and early 19th century and are made of slate.
Among them are two headstones with steep triangular tops, created by Deacon of Milton Abbot, commemorating Philippa Lemon, who died in 1801, and William Lemon, who died in 1807. There is also a slate headstone with a segmental head for Mary Nicolls, who passed away in 1788. Another headstone features a shouldered nowy head, adorned with a skull and figures of Death the Reaper, dedicated to Katherine Nicolls, who died in 1742. The final headstone, with a nowy head, is for John Coungdon, who died in 1777.
