Description

LINKINHORNE LINKINHORNE SX 37 SW 7/45 Gateway at the western entrance to - the churchyard of Church of St Melor and churchyard cross at the north side of the gateway GV II Churchyard gateway and churchyard cross. Probably C19, re-using some C16 material. Granite. The gateway has a short granite ashlar wall with granite coping, about 1 1/2 metres high and about 2 metres long, to each side. Central coffin rest with granite monolith top. Ridged granite pathway. Plain iron overthrow with C20 lamp. C19 cast iron gates with trefoil finials to top and mid rails. Cross is a granite monolith, about 1 metre and 20 centimetres high; roughly hewn, with a hole through the shaft and a trefoil-shaped head.
