Description

J Konig is a mid-19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay house that features a simple classical and symmetrical design. The east (street) façade is made of pink and grey granite ashlar, while the west side is constructed from rubble. It is prominently located on the entrance road to Ballater, just off Ballater Bridge. The house has a central four-panel timber door topped by a simple rectangular fanlight. There are three notable canted attic dormers on the east side. At the rear, there is a central stair turret with a conical roof, which has been widened and altered with 20th-century additions at the ground floor.

The windows are predominantly timber 4-pane sash and case, and the roof is covered with grey graded slates, featuring gable stacks.

Access to the interior was not possible at the time of the visit in 2005.
