Description

Inverdene is a house located on Bridge Street in Ballater, built around 1820. It is a symmetrical, two-storey structure with an attic and features three bays, along with a pair of canted piended dormers. The house is prominently positioned in a row of buildings just after the entrance to Ballater from the bridge over the River Dee. It is constructed from pink granite rubble with margins.

The entrance includes a 20th century six-panel timber door, which has a narrow rectangular fanlight above it, set within narrow pilastered jambs. The windows are predominantly four-pane timber sash and case style, and the roof is covered with graded grey slate.

Inside, Inverdene retains much of its original floorplan and detailing. There are some simple cornices, a timber curved staircase with slender balusters, and several working timber shutters.
