Description
Circa 1830, renovated 1980s. Fine 2 storey, H-plan, stable block sited to N of Inverernan House, incorporating iron-columned verandah between advanced gabled wings and low pitched broad eaved roof. Harl over snecked rubble with ashlar margins. Granite base course and quoin strips. Segmental cart arches and round headed windows. Boarded timber doors and 2-part fanlights.
FURTHER DESCRIPTION: principal elevation to W with advanced outer wings, that to left with cart arch at ground, both with decoratively-astragalled round headed window at 1st floor and blind tablet in gablehead. Recessed bays with full-width verandah.
Largely 12-pane glazing pattern in timber sash and case windows; some out-of-character 1st floor windows with plate glass glazing. Grey slates. Deeply overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding..
INTERIOR: some interior detail retained, including looseboxes boarded timber walls, finialled posts and ironwork hay baskets.
