Description
The stable block at Faringdon House is an early 19th-century building constructed of red brick. It features a two-storey central section flanked by one-storey projecting wings, all topped with hipped shallow pitched slate roofs. The central part has three windows, which are glazing bar sash windows set in cambered head surrounds. The centre is accentuated by a pediment that contains an arched doorway situated in a wider arched recess, with a thermal window above it in the pediment. Each wing has arched-headed doorways on their inner sides and cambered head windows at their ends. The outer faces of the wings display blank arcading with arched windows. The west wing, which faces Faringdon House, has rubble stone walling with brick surrounds. Inside, there are cast iron columns and 19th-century iron stalls.
