Description
Castle Keeper's Cottage at Doune Castle dates from around 1820 and is a single-storey, L-plan structure that is semi-octagonal on the east side. The cottage is constructed of ashlar stone and features a timber porch with modern infill located in the re-entrant angle. It has a piended main roof, which is gabled on the shorter arm and includes a dormer gablet at the apex. There is a penticed roof on the south side. The windows are either two or three-light, featuring mullions and transoms with lattice glazing. The cottage has one small gabled dormer and is topped with one octagonal and one squared corniced chimney stack. The roof is covered with slate.
