Description

Castlebank Cottage in Doune was originally built in the late 18th century, with a large addition made around 1820, resulting in an asymmetrical layout. The earliest part of the building is located at the rear and is harled. The 19th-century addition features ashlar stonework with polished ashlar dressings. The cottage is two storeys high, with twin bays that have lying-pane glazing and piended roofs, topped with twin gables. There is a single-storey porch located in the re-entrant angle on the west side, as well as a single-storey addition on the east. The roof is made of slate.
